Ms. Kahumbya Bashige is a seasoned governance and leadership expert with over two decades of executive and board-level experience in the financial, development, and corporate sectors. She is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Directors (IoD), holds the Chartered Director qualification from IoD-UK, and has a Corporate Director Certificate from Harvard Business School. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS) Trust in July 2025, bringing with her a strong track record in institutional governance, risk oversight, and sustainable development.

 

Ms. Bashige’s career includes leadership positions at Citibank, Deloitte & Touche, the African Development Bank, and Shelter Afrique. She is currently collaborating with the Asia School of Business (ASB) to create and deliver governance training for board members and senior leaders in Africa. This partnership aims to enhance board effectiveness and strengthen institutional capacity on the continent, with a focus on accountability, sustainability, and values-based leadership. She serves on the Council of the IoD (UK) and is an Independent Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at CRDB Bank Burundi S.A.. She was recognized as an Angaza 2024 Honoree and named one of the Top 10 Women to Watch in the banking and finance industry.
