Professor David Nyange is a seasoned Agricultural Economist with over 25 years of experience in agricultural and rural development reforms throughout Africa. He is the Executive Director of ASPIRES Tanzania and an Adjunct Professor of International Development at Michigan State University. Professor Nyange has advised governments and led more than 30 policy, legal, fiscal, and institutional reforms aimed at improving agricultural productivity, trade, investment, and financial inclusion. His technical leadership has shaped significant strategies such as ASDP II, Agenda 10/30, and youth agribusiness frameworks, aligning Tanzania’s development agenda with inclusive, market-oriented growth.
He previously worked as Deputy Team Leader for Feed the Future at USAID/Tanzania, where he designed and managed a $350 million program that integrated nutrition, value chains, infrastructure, finance, and policy reform. He has also worked with the World Bank and FAO. As an advocate for knowledge sharing, he has lectured at Sokoine University and MSU and convened the Annual Agricultural Policy Conference. He currently serves on the boards of PASS Trust, TCDC, and SATF, providing strategic guidance on agricultural finance, cooperative development, and socially impactful investments.
